Blog Hop For Dorcas

Welcome to this little blog hop we are having today for our dear friend Dorcas, who a week ago lost one of her fur-babies. Many of us know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet and we wanted her to know that we are all thinking of her at this distressing time.

Dorcas, this is for you, a little something to say I care about you, as do so many others. I know you will get the support you need, but as I can't actually be there to hug you I'm going to have to send you a virtual hug.....can you feel it.

I tried to use a few things that I know Dorcas likes, blue and yellow, a ADFD image, buttons of course. I added a few things I like, crocheted lace, a tag and a hand made fimo rose, and spots.

Well, if you came from BABS blog you came to the right place. Next you need to hop to Lauras.

If anyone gets lost along the way or has started in the middle, you may want to go to Stacey's blog and start from the beginning.

Google Friends connect Closing

Copied and pasted from Glitterbabes post, thanks Stef.   EDITIED According to Sneeky Momma Blog....GFC is
only being lost from none blogger blogs such as WordPress.

so, in case you're wondering what the LINKY follower thingy is on the top right of my sidebar.....  in case you haven't heard, GOOGLE FRIENDS CONNECT is ending next month.  anyway, here's what i found about it....

As you’ve probably heard (and in case you haven't), the popular Google Friend Connect (“GFC”) is going away March 1st for non-Google blog platforms like WordPress, and rumor has it that it will be eventually phased out completely to be replaced by Google+.  YES you read that right. It has been on national news reports –all about how Google is phasing it out and not providing a service to move our followers–even saying the new Google+ will not be what the GFC was.
anyway, a friend of mine (thank you dawn) found this link and i checked it out.  it's easy, it's FREE and i decided to "jump on the bandwagon" before the you-know-what hits the fan and we're all running around like chickens without our heads.
 Introducing LINKY FOLLOWERS (www.linkyfollowers.com)

so.  check it out.  you've got absolutely NOTHING to lose!
ok.  that's my good deed for the day

40's ATC with Attitude

For my ATC base I used a piece of gold card. I stamp a few scrollie bits (using just elements of a Tim Holtz Stamp)  on it and embossed them in gold, and then inked over the ATC edges and embossed that. The corners started to lift a little, and I liked it so I heated one corner until it melted right back. My pictures (in case you don't already know) are of Shirley Temple, at different ages through the 40's. I used to love watching her films as a child (not that I was alive in the fourties I hasten to add lol). I just have a little gold chiffon bow and a futterby to finish off the glitz, all from stash.

I'd like to join ATC's & Cards with Attitude for their Anything Goes Challenge.

Easely Love, Love, Love.

Been A good while since I posted, I've still been crafting, bit by bit, but not had my head on straight enough to post...hopefully I'll manage to make sense!!

I made this Anniversary card for friends, a lovely couple. It had been a while since I'd made a white on white and I enjoyed making this one. Sorry the images are so fuzzy...you just can't get the staff now-a-days lol. It's a double easel card.
Image from a set by Penny Black. Called 'A Good Catch'. I stamped in black and embossed in clear, was a bit of a mistake as made it difficult to colour some of the tiny parts with my pencils....I used Lyca. I'm still not very good with them, but persevering. I dry embossed the backgrounds and then inked the raised edges and wet embossed those. I also went over them with mica spray.....I wanted it lovely and shimmery.

I found the sentiment online. Two great sites for verses and sentiments are Quote Garden and  Imag-n-ation. Imag-n-ation also sell great digi images amongst other things.
My flowers are crocheted, I've put some of my lovely mother of pearl buttons as centres.

I have a little lift up flap for space to put my personal message, with another little quote, I quite like this one and thought it went well with the image.
The letters are made with pearl fimo, I used fimo cutters, and I've used a mica spray over the top.

My name is Linda and I'm addicted to Tags

I'm mostly only making tags these day, just trying lots of different techniques, making lace and tassels and putting charms together, having a lot of fun. I really like this one, I cut a couple of Marianne Designs Doilies out of scrap card and used them as masks, sponging over them with watered down ink pad in blue...by whispers. I inked up stamps in the same ink...not watered down though. The Stamps are a set by Tim Holtz, fast becoming another obsession...as if I needed another one. I used bits of the same flourish stamp to decorate around the edges of the tag. Finished off with some charms (the heart says Made with Love), beads and some of my crocheted lace and a tasseled crocheted ribbon.

A couple of close ups of the details ...

I'd like to enter my tag in the challenge at

Hey Man! Tag you're it!

You see here my first tag for a Man, pretty near my first tag too. I've been wanting to try steam punk too, and hope this qualifies. My papers are Kay & Co, the little pix are from a 12x12 of postage style images. The fibre is Basic Grey, the pocket watch, buttons charm and chain are from Beads Direct. The crocheted lace and tie are handmade.
I hope you can read the sentiment, Travels Inspire. Thought the perfect thing for a 'luggage tag'

*Using outside content in your My Memories Suite software* from Lisa Jurrens on Vimeo.
I've just worked along with this tutorial to learn how to use digital papers I already have on my pc...and I have a lot of them - yet another one of my addictions. It's so great to be able to make use of all these wonderful papers I've bought, in addition to those on My Memories. These papers are from Donna's Bearly Designs, and the added embellishments are part of the My Memories suite

You can do some really cool things with this software, and there are so many detailed tutorials to hold your hand every step of they way. If you are still undecided about having this great tool, I suggest a look at the above tutorial, or pop over and visit the blog to view any of the tutorials there. There are a great number of designers for you to browse through on the My Memories site, and many, many free papers, templates and quick pages that you can use with or without this software.

To enter my give-away of this software program please go here. You can use this code STMMMS43270  any time to receive a $10 discount on the software.
