My Heart Pieces

The image I used for the above plaque is called Nature, is by my blog buddy Priyanka and can be found in her new digi store here. She has a new challenge blog starting 15th May. There is just three days left to enter her DT call (ends 30th April). Click here for details.

I made this for my daughter who (some of you may know) has been bedridden for three years now. She's improved a little, at least she can talk more, and laugh now. She enjoys listening to the birds singing outside, but as she can rarely catch sight of any I am gradually filling her room with them lol. I have made some with needle felting, and I print pictures out for her. I recently saw a picture of an Eastern Bluebird on Dorcas' blog and knew my daughter would love them.

I used 'artistic licence' and made the birds into Eastern Bluebirds, despite knowing they were a little on the small side really. She decided she'd like them hanging from the screen around her bed, so I punched a hole in the top and added a ribbon.

I used Lyra Pencils to colour, my cardstock and gems are stash.

I'd like to enter this for

This is lovely Lin, I love to see the birds too. We have a pair of chickadees making a nest in my birdhouse on the front deck, they are so used to us that they just sit and watch us come & go. Nice to hear that your daughter is doing a little better.
Hugs to you,
Babs xo

Linda, this is so beautiful. You did an excellent job on your coloring. I also love the colorful birds. We have goldfinches, cardinals, red-headed woodpeckers and hummingbirds that come to our feeders, which I can see from my recliner in the living room. I just love watching them try to run each other off the feeders. Plus we have a pesky, but highly intelligent squirrel that tries his best to get it, too. I'm sure that Paula must love the card. Give her my love. Hugs, dj
