Will Work for Chocolate in Autumn Colours

Well Wouldn't we all eh lol. Having spent so long making this card I'm going to have to really get a move on to avoid missing any of the challenges....again.

I found both buttons at the bottom of one of my sewing boxes (I have three lol). The wide ribbons are some of my very unused stash...I'm getting real good a digging deep now : D. One of my challenges is to use three different kinds of ribbons so I have the extremely wide satin coppery ribbon, the wide red velvet and the very narrow orange....would never have thought to use them together like that....challenges are great fun aren't they.

I'm loving the paper peicing so much that I actually did two images, lot of work but I enjoyed every minute.
I missed my colour challenge that I'd put so much thought into lol. Brown, Green & Orange.

My Recipe.
DSP - Basic Grey
Images - Imag-e-nation
Colours - Promarkers, Sakura and blendable pencils

I won with flowery sorry all buttoned up.

I'm so pleased I got joint second place with this card at Digi doodle Shop best. : D  I used their image and had to enter as many challenges as I could. The winner entered 22 challenges, wow!! I, and another two, did 16, and third place did 15 challenges. I have to admit that it's been the most fun challenge yet, so quite a bonus to win something as well.

Rock-a-bye Baby

This is the scanned image, as could get a good one with camera, Pix below show the card standing up, it's a Wobble Card and rocks side to side. It's for another one of my swaps. The image is Dufex, hope everyone has seen how they look 'in real life' as they are not showing up to advantage here. It's a rectangle topper really but I cut it out using a nestie shape as a template. I had to 'map it out' on the rear of the topper so I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I saw the sketch and instantly thought it would work as a wobble card, love the layout of it.
Card Patterns sketch 82

You can probably see that it's a doily for the 'rocker', another one of my unused stash items. It's an all white challenge so I'm pleased that my glitter paper came out so well, I was a little afraid it would scan as a load of black dots. I have mulberry paper along the top edge, above the bit of dry embossing, and paper 'lace'.  There is a bit of ribbon too, only you can't see it very well under the flowery paper 'lace'. Then just three clear flower gems to finish off.
So you can see how it stands.

My receipe:=

Image - Dufex
paper lace - Ace catalogue
Flower gems - Melbecks garden centre
Doily - stash

I'm thinking of birdies

This is a tri fold card, I'll be sending it to my partner for this months swap, for the swap group I'm in. Sadly you can't see the glitter pen round the image, on the buttons, and colouring the butterfly; grass and leaves of the image are glitter pen too. Tried with camera and scanner but no good ..oh well, glad I'm not doing a glittered challenge this time round.

The green flowers with pearls have been in my stash for sooo long, and were cream, yes, coloured them with sticker (peel-offs) pens, also the buttons.  My image is paper pieced again, now isn't that surprising lol.

This is it standing properly.

My Receipe for this card:-

Image - Molly Cat with Birdhouse from Crafty Pad
Rose - Ebay
Buttons & other flowers - stash

Flowery sorry all buttoned up

This cute little fella is a freebie digi to use as part of the Digi Doodle challenge. I thought with that expression he works well for a Sorry Card for a friend. Of course it would have to be for a slight misdemeanour, I can't see using it to get away with wrecking someone's car lol  - not unless it came with a cheque of course!! I'll most likely save it for the next time one of my friends has a fall, with our condition it happens often (No! not drink).

I paper pieced the bath, had to have another go at paper piecing didn't I : ). My green scalloped ovalie thing I made from a tag, liked the shape so cut the same pattern the other end of it. Shiny part of flower showing up orange in pic isn't it, it is yellow though.

I was brave with this card and used some of the distressed scrapbook papers I'd been hoarding......and some of my much loved, oh so precious, hand made mother of pearls. I'd buy some every time I went to the local craft fayre. In the end the guy said he'd sell me no more until he saw me wearing some lol.

My receipe:-
DSP's....stash, part of a distressed set I have.(e.bay)
Buttons ...stash, hand made mother of pearl, craft fayre
shiny stuff ... fabric flower and butterfly & 'gem' from stash

I'll never knott miss you.

I have a lovely purple paper with sparkles on it which I wanted to use for this card...it was perfect for the colour plus sparkle challenge. No matter how I tried though I just couldn't make it work with my other colours. I found out other papers and then realised that Jeanie's clothes weren't right, just way too pastel. I've virtually made two cards and only ended up with one to show for it lol.

The Sentiment is really a play on the song 'I'll never not Love you', no idea who by, but then I hardly know what day it is either. I used brown fibre pen to edge round the layers, to pull them together. The chiffon ribbon and buttons were coloured using the same pens which are sold for colouring stickers. I find they give a nice even cover and don't rub off.

The plant leaves are coloured with glitter pens, and bits around the flowers too. One of my few remaining AB gems for the dandelion clock, plus gem flowers complete my bling.
My Recipe :-
DP - Basic Grey, Damask, Cashmere & Exposure
Other papers - stash
Image -  Jeanie from Imag-e-nation
Colouring - Blendable pencils from WH Smith,
Glitter pens - Sakura Tiara
Sticker fibre pens- from Imag-e-nations

Jeanie, early stages paper piecing

I do realise that it is mere vanity to be self satisfied with your own handiwork, but I am so very pleased with how my first attempt at paper piecing has turned out. As you can see I'm so eager to show you that I haven't even finished the image, let alone put her on a card lol. Lets hope I don't make a mess of the card after patting myself on the back so publicly. Ok, so I got her name wrong, but I've changed it now,  it's been one of those days lol
Digi image - Jeanie from Imag-e-nation

Card Photo Studio.

Boy that sounds really impressive doesn't it, only to see a rather bad photo - well I've no photo studio to take a picture of it in have I. Lighting is just not good when you have energy saving bulbs all through the house : (

I made it using an A3 sheet of card. Scored all the way across half way width ways, and half way length ways I cut up to the score line. By crossing one 'leg' over the other and holding with a paper clip I have my photo studio. Remove the paper clip, fold in half and I can store it away in my already overcrowded bedroom/craft store.

I used it to photograph my monochrome card and the clean and simple one...was quite pleased with the results. Thanks to Annemaritta and Dorcas for the tip.

variation on a theme #3

This is the third of my embossed sketches (Papertake Weekly ). I used my round lazer cuts as you can see, and a little resin rose embellishment for the centre. Lace and pearl beading to finish it off.

I lost count of how many photo's I've taken of this card trying to get the beautiful little Aura Borealis faceted stones to show up, eventually scanned it.

I've made it as a (quite very) belated anniversary card for some new friends of ours. I'd had no idea until a slice of chocolate anniversary cake turned up, not in my diet plan but eaten all the same lol.

My Receipe

monochrome flowers

This is my second card using the Sketch from PaperTake Weekly. The Flowers are die cuts. I very rarely use die cuts, just simply because I love having a pair of scissors in my hand. Hubby bought these for me and I quite like them.  I've never used pins before, and didn't have any so my pins are dressmaking pins with 'pearls' stuck on the pointy end. I'll definitely use them again, already got plans rolling round in my head....may spend the next few days making pins lol.

My Receipe

Die Cuts ...Local Garden Centre (Melbecks)
Pearls & Pins ... Stash
Stickers ...Anita

I hope to enter this card into the following Challenges:-

Cow Girl Sunday Challenge - Anything Goes

A close up of the pins etc

Here we go Clean and Simple again.

Being quite determined (it's not, absolutely not, another name for stubborn) I'm giving Clean and Simple another go. My last effort didn't really make the grade. : (  I really liked this sketch and thought it would work well with embossing, I'm glad I gave it a try, I enjoyed it so much I used it for three cards lol.

I have had these lazer cuts for a few years, but always been afraid of using them. It's why these challenges are so great isn't it (speaking for myself at least) they make you get out of your comfort zone and try different things. I learned something new with every card I've entered......and having so much fun.

My receipe

Dino Back to School

I decided to go clean and simple with this one again. It is something I've always found a challenge, the urge to add something to 'balance it out' lol. I wanted to keep it bright too, as it's for my 5yr old Grandson. I'd saved some blue plastic parcel banding (they put it on heavy box like parcels that are sent by carrier). I was going to cut the 'teeth' pattern in it and use it as the 'ribbon'. However some people, ones I've considered my nearest and dearest, don't share my recycling fervour. Some people  actually go into your handbag (purse) and  take what you've saved and throw it away....I ask you!! LOL

I'm a little happier with my colouring this time - spent two days on it lol - but don't feel I got the beam of light right. Still it's not bending any more at least.

My Receipe:-

Papers ...Various 8x8 scrapbook, from stash

Skool dayz in the pink.

This card will be going to a young friend of mine. I always make her a going back to school card, unlike me she likes school and I think that's something to celebrate...I can't understand it, but I  celebrate it all the same lol. I still need some work on my colouring, it doesn't stand close scrutiny.....so it's practice, practice, practice for me. Will experiment with different papers too.

I made another little ribbon flower and coloured the bonnet charm with a permanent ink marker as didn't want to put anything gold on the card. Coloured my stickers too of course.

My new stash.
That is the little bonnet charm, part of a box of embellishments that were given as a gift.
Sorry, no trade name on the box.

My Receipe.

Making a splash with sparkle

So, I've got to use a house mouse stamp in one of the challenges, I love housemouse - remind me of my little pet ratties when they were babies....wish I still had little pet ratties:(
It's also a purple and green challenge and I'm disappointed the muted olive of my background hasn't shown up too well. Added glitter to the two circles and edges of square image, used sukura glitter pens on rain drops....glitter never shows up well does it....for me at least.  Not sure if I need a better camera, or a photography course..oh well.
Do you like my ribbon rose. It's for the ribbon with a twist challenge, hadn't got purple ribbon so had to colour it with purple ink....after I'd made it.

Here's my receipe.

papers - various scrapbook
stamp- Housemouse
greeting - google search for weather quotes
colouring - crayola for umbrella, blendable pencils elsewhere
sparkles - glistening snow writer by Deco Art
Sukura tiara clear
 gems - stash
ribbon rose - handmade from ribbon stash

Hoping to enter in the following challanges :-

House Mouse Monday Challange....Make a Splash
Craftalicious ...Main colours purple & green
Crafty Cardmakers ....glitter and sparkle, more the merrier
Wild Orchid...Make it Sparkle
Paper Players...anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown....Ribbons with a Twist.

And now for some close ups......

Hope you can see the bling ok here. I have AB 'gems' as little raindrops, one for the little grey mousie to drink and one on the umbrella......the mouse on his own just above...look.

You can see it better here and a little pearl inside the ribbon rose.

three little green faceted stones for the flower centres

Just one last close up of my image. Enough with the close ups do you think...yes me too.

I believe its clean and simple

I enjoyed this challenge. Following quite a busy sketch but trying to keep it simple. I found a challenge for vintage too so was able to add that in to it. Never made a card before that only had a sentiment as it's focus. I glued my papers to plain banana paper and cut an edge around with fancy scissors. I made an embellishment by wiring up metal beads and rondelles from my bits box; and added a button with pearls on - just for balance.....and the meet the pearl challenge.

Sorry it's not showing up very clear, and I've not worked out yet how to do all the clever close up stuff either lol.

My receipe

Papers : various scrapbook and banana paper
Sentiment : cut from a scrapbook paper
Embellishments : stash

I want to enter this card in the following challenges :-

Mojo Monday - Sketch
Sentimental Sunday - Clean and Simple, plus sentiment
Paper Players - anything goes
Die cut Dreams - Soft shades of vintage
The Crafty Pad - Simply pearls.
