My name is Linda and I'm addicted to Tags

I'm mostly only making tags these day, just trying lots of different techniques, making lace and tassels and putting charms together, having a lot of fun. I really like this one, I cut a couple of Marianne Designs Doilies out of scrap card and used them as masks, sponging over them with watered down ink pad in blue...by whispers. I inked up stamps in the same ink...not watered down though. The Stamps are a set by Tim Holtz, fast becoming another obsession...as if I needed another one. I used bits of the same flourish stamp to decorate around the edges of the tag. Finished off with some charms (the heart says Made with Love), beads and some of my crocheted lace and a tasseled crocheted ribbon.

A couple of close ups of the details ...

I'd like to enter my tag in the challenge at
Totally Paper Crafts for ~ Anything But Christmas

My Memories Suite Giveaway

I have to admit, I've been longing to have a go with this wonderful Scrapbooking Software - My Memories Suite -so when it was offered to me I jumped up and down and then jumped at the chance. I can't begin to tell you how how easy (not to mention fun) it is. I did the first page while I was feeling quite poorly - now at my best I only function on half a brain cell - so it had to be super-easy.

This is from one of the made templates...you just add the pix....and leave it at that if you choose.  However,  you can still play around with it. I moved the shadows and changed the embellishments. I hadn't found the buttons at this point, or it would have been covered lol.
This next couple of pages is using what's called a photo only template, so you add the backing and everything else yourself. You still have complete freedom and can move the photo's anywhere around the page.
I loved the staples and clip so went a little mad lol.
You can even add stitching to the buttons.
There is so much more you can do, cards and calendars...as well as add sound and all kinds of cool stuff. There are plenty of How To Video's on the My Memories Blog, so you can have your hand help every step of the way if you wish.

As stated in the title, I'm allowed a copy of this to giveaway - someone is only two steps away from having this to play with too.

1) Be a Follower
2) Take a look around  My Memories and come back and leave a comment telling me which Kit, Quick Page, etc you most like.

There are always loads of Free Downloads, a wonderful Dollar Store section. I already had kits prior to the software, but was able to go into my account and download the software versions of them all.

Want extra entries...of course you do...
Follow on any or all below and leave a separate comment for each

If you'd prefer not to wait you can use the code below to get $10 off My Memories Suite Scrapbooking Software right now. Simply go to My Memories and make your purchase, copy and paste STMMMS43270
into the promotional code box and it will be deducted from your order. All you have to do then is download and enjoy.

This giveaway will run till 30th November.

It needle-be a Rainbow

I needle felted this Rainbow finch (Gouldian Finch) some months ago, and it's been keeping my daughter company hanging beside her bed since then....along with the Hummingbirds I felted. You can see the posts here and here, I hope you can see that my technique has improved a little. I made his beak myself with papier mashe, and coloured it with promarkers.

A few more views below, wish I'd shown his tail clearer.

I'm entering this at Paper Playtime Challenge for their Anything Goes, Past or Present.

Hopped in with a Bookmark card

Card with a detachable bookmark was the swap card my group did this month, and I had a lot of fun making it. The bookmark is magnetic and I saw it on Doodle Buddies Naush has some great projects, I'd recommend giving her a look-see. Her magnetic bookmark tutorial is here.

As you can see, it's a multi-fold card, giving me a lot of space to play with. It was my first go at using a banner, and it's really a cheat as I used the cut-off from my cardstock - which is a rik-rak cardstock stack. I've also stamped all over the place on this project. Having just discovered my 'skill' has improved, I've become a little addicted. My papers are Kay & Co. A stack of 360 sheets which I had in a wonderful offer of £9.99. I love the papers. My stamps are clear sets from Papermania. The cute bunny from one and the sentments and flowers from a second set called Honey and Hugs. Die-cuts are nesties and colourants promarkers and Lyca pencils.

A couple of inside leaf shots.
The large rik-rak in the center panel is 'waste' from the rik-rak stack.

Front of Bookmark.
Inside. I've hidden the magnetic strip under the paper.

I'd like to entre this in the Challenge at Crop Shop for Unique Folds

turquoise nature charm bracelet

This bracelet is for my daughter, as she's still bedridden it will be a while before she'll be able to wear it. I gave it to her and told her she'll be able to use it to strengthen her arms when she's a little better lol - it's quite a weight. Meanwhile it's hanging beside her bed for her to see.

I've used lamp beads and 2mm Rattail, from Ebay.

My charms are from various places.
The leaf, tree and butterfly is stash, too long to remember the seller. The bee is Ribbon girl, the hummingbirds, flower and hand-made (isn't that cute) charm are from The Bead Shop

I've used decorative button knots, which is learned to make from the book Ornamental Knots for Beaded Jewellery. It's by Suzen Millodot and she has loads of wonderful u tube tutorials too.

With sliding button knots as the closure.

A Fantastic Project Award

This lovely award was given to my by Lori at Lori's Artsy Obsessions . She's created this award herself and you can see the rest of the recipients here. Thank you Lori for giving me the honour of being among the first to receive this award.

There are so many bloggers out there who inspire me, but I can't give the award to everyone so I'm passing this on to 5 fantastic crafters who's projects have captured my eye most recently. I realise that not everyone one likes to display these awards, and I respect anyones desire to keep their blog uncluttered; that being said I hope you'll accept my appreciation of your work, and should you wish, display and pass this on to 5 others.

I've linked to direct projects but I know you'll enjoy looking around the blogs once you get there.

http://sweetncrafty.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-smash-adventures-part-2.html I've so enjoyed following Carlyann's Smash adventure.

http://forgottenscraps.blogspot.com/search/label/...%20Art%20Journal I always find Barbara's colouring skill inspiring and often use her as a guide when colouring backgrounds. Her art journal is full of wonderful things.

http://anniebeescraftroom.blogspot.com/2011/10/5th-and-final-entry-for-round-5-of-cdac.html Anne's colouring is always great and I loved the realistic look on this project.

http://doreensdream.blogspot.com/2011/10/nice-vintage.html I love to see vintage, one of the things I'd love to perfect, and I always have my eye out for those who do it so well

http://staceyscraftycreations.blogspot.com/2011/10/baket-case.html Another of my loves is multi folds and paper constructions (though not done many in the last year). Stacey is awesome at them and these baskets are no exception.

Well done ladies.

Another LUFP

Just wanted to share a project I'm very proud to be involved in, to make a crocheted patchwork blanket. It's for the daughter of a friend, she was diagnosed just a few months after her baby daughter was born. She's undergoing chemo at the moment. A group of us are each making squares and my friend will be putting them all together and making the quilt. Her favourite colour is purple and I have a few other squares in purple with a pink flower on it. All the squares will be joined together with purple yarn.

Link Up For Pink Party

I made this bag charm (which will soon be on a bag very near me) for the Link Up For Pink Party being held over at Touched By A Butterfly, and a couple of other blogs.
Eighteen months ago I lost a friend of over 20yrs to breast cancer, she only lived 3mths after her diagnosis.

I've only recently got back into jewelry making, styles have changed so much that I feel like it's a brand new craft, and I'm enjoying learning a lot of new techniques thanks to the wonders of u tube lol.
Some close ups, I'm enjoying twisting wires.

I made this little bracelet for myself too, using 2mm white rattail and ceramic beads, two have flowers and the center bead has the pink ribbon, as you'll see in the close ups below.

For those interested in such details, I've used a square knot, macrame.

Hope you'll also make a pink project and join the link up party.
