WOYWW

This is my first time ever unveiling of WOYWW. I don't strictly speaking have a work space...in the sense of a desk or table. The pic above is the coffee table in the living room where my beloved bigshot lives. Here you see all the bits I've been using for a gold on gold card I'm making.

Below is my 'lap-tray'. What it really is, is the lid of my largest storage box, I have a cushion on my lap, with the lid on top and it fits across the arms of my chair. This way I can craft in my daughters sick-room. My laptop is sitting on top of it right now of course, as I type this.  See my embossing tool on top of the card...about to be used to score the centre fold...I broke it pressing too hard so glued paper around to fix it.... so!!....it's a good tool!!....been like it for years and still works lol.

That is my crafting pair of glasses you see right there...I wear bi-focals, but I put this pair on with them and use them like a magnifying lense.

Hopefully I'll be showing the finished card in a few days. This is the main problem. I have to do everything 'piece-meal' (do you have that in America - means one part of the job is done and then passed on to someone else for the next part). I have to get a few bits out, put them away (on my to be put away pile) and get a bit more out - some stuff has to be done in another room...makes the process much longer. Still, at least it means I can craft.

Below we have a pic of what was on my work space before I gathered all my stuff together. I thought I'm having a picture of that darn cat (I mean darling princess) as that is my very last sheet of shimmery gold card she's sitting on. I'm going to tell you where I got it from because although it looked all ruckled up under her, it came to no harm. It's Craft Creations and called Alchemy Pearlescent, I have to buy more now!!!
She's about 8 - a previously owned cat - and I called her Seri, short for serene as she just has such a serene vibe....until the other cat chases her or my elderly, half blind, harmless yorkie (also previously owned) wonders in reach of her paw...the serenity dents a little then lol.

Lin, you manage remarkably well and cope well with everything. It's good therapy to craft as it is satisfying and there is a lovely end product.
Welcome your first WOYWW!

There is something very calming about sitting and stroking a cat. Loved reading your post and seeing a bit of your craft 'area'. xxx

Where there is will there is a way. You do so well just working on your tray. I bet it is frustrating having to go to other rooms for stuff. It is very nice you are able to craft next to your daughter. She probably loves the company since she is so sick. That is so a cat to sit in the middle of your work. I would have several piles of paper, mine would choose the one I was going to work on. How do they know?

I´m looking forward to your golden card!
Your cat reminds me of mine... I had one about 20 years ago - he also used to sit just right in the middle of all my books, when I had to learn for school :-)
I hope you´ll hav a nice day!
Hugs,
Uli

Anywhere you can craft is a work desk to me. I'm currently using a tray rested on my lap, as my table is in bits as we are decorating.

You do what you have to do to satisfy the crafting addiction! I think you are managing very well. I love the cats taking over our work spaces. I think they are saying they want/need more attention. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #30

Sorry I'm such a late WOYWWer this week! I've still got the old big shot but it works fine! although I sometimes wish it's handle could be tucked away!Thank for popping over, I do love stones,I go somewhere and instead of looking at the garden flowers I'm checking out what stones they have on the path as I know if they're smooth, they cost a whole lot more! To me a stone on the beach is just a stone among thousands of others, but one chosen becomes a little work of art all of its own!

Any space you can find to craft is a great craft space to me - love the cat owning the space before you ~ Nicky no.6

Piece meal is a good thing - keeps you tidy and mostly it discourages you from half finihsed projects, I bet! Genius lap tray!

Hi Lindy. Happy to visit you for your 'unveiling'. There are pros & cons about having a studio in a way because it can be very distracting. Working piece meal makes you focus on one thing at a time. Seri is a fine looker, and of course must sit on whatever is your present concern. I have two who sit on my stuff...little Usurpers they are, even on my blog;-)
